If Not in Miami is this a Good Color Choice?

Do you think it is harder to sell a house if it is painted in an unusual color like aqua blue even if the house is fresh on the inside? Would that affect your decision in purchasing a house?

For sale purposes in this area, I don't think it is a good color choice. With this kind of look, you either love it or you hate it. I don't think there is a middle ground. For me, the inside would have to be absolutely divine and the price just right for me to even consider it. In which case, I would factor in the costs of repainting and/or restyling the whole facade.

i dig it.
why?
cuz it'll drive down the price, to the point where i might be able to afford it. i wish more houses were painted in goofy color schemes.

it takes a day to paint the exterior of a house - which is really no biggie for even an idiot like myself.

i say paint more houses in petworth exactly like this one! (as long as they are up for sale.....)

In Takoma, there is a huge ENTIRELY lavender house.

I think it's on Buttenut Street, between 5th & 4th, but it's not difficult to notice.

The outside is nothing compared to the inside which is designed like a Florida timeshare with tacky wall to wall carpet and cheap fixtures ... circa 1978. It's a HORRIBLE renovation. Seriously PooPoo, you want nothing to do with this disaster.

The color scheme isn't so bad --- it is the total lack of curb appeal. If there was a bunch of fun plants and flowers the house would look much better. I also think the porch should be a different color.

I've always thought it was kind of a cool house (I think it is right on NH), with lots of room for improvement. But not at 600K. At 600K I want maid and yard service, with a pooper scooper 3 x a week.

Kelly, the inside is a nightmare. And it is a very small lot.

I don't think the color is bad. I love that group of painted houses on New Hampshire just down the street from this one and wish that more houses in the neiborhood were painted cool colors. I just always thought the stucco covered house always looked a little wierd next to its neighbors. But the 600 k price tag Kelly mentioned would stop me from getting this place alot more than how it looks outside. If done right, this house could look pretty cool I think.

Amen to that!

My first thought upon seeing the house was "Hello 1992".

as someone who has painted their house in an unusual color scheme (and dreads seeing it on this blog labelled hideous) I know that if I ever want to sell it I will have to repaint it. But for now the bright colors make me happy. And it's a big change from the blend in brick red it was. Everyone can find it now!
