Do YOU have a carbon monoxide detector, PoP? Where do you get one?
I DO have one. I'm laughing right now because, um, er, well my MOM gave it to me!
You could buy a CO (carbon monoxide) at Home depot or Lowes. A good one would run about $20 to $30.
You may install the CO detector next to your smoke detector. And if really want to invest for your safety, you can install an additional CO detector right next to your bowler and furnace that use natural gas as fuel.
Some of the township the nation actually require CD detector in the house. During closing on a house title transfer, an occupancy certificate, that includes proper CO detector installation check, is required.

Don't forget, everyone owning a house should also check radon levels. High radon levels can be remediated with a blower-fan system, since radon from the ground is an invisible source of radiation we all would do better without.
