I've noticed these signs popping up all over Petworth. Do you think they really care or are they just looking to prey on those in trouble?

These are scammers. Check out Legal Counsel for the Elderly, a part of AARP for more info. (www.aarp.org)
The signs are illegally posted and they're a blight on the neighborhood. Call 727.1000 to get the city to remove them and to fine the posters. I've called and the city was right on top of it: The sign was removed in two days and I haven't seen one on my block since.
Nice. Good to know the city was super responsive.
