Let's bring a chocolate shop and Java Green to Petworth for starters!

Alright, after reading the comments again from last Friday's question of the week it seems clear to me that we are looking for some independent businesses to set up shop. I'll give up my dream for a Dunkin Donuts for now. So I'll email the gentleman whose wife is looking for a space for her chocolate shop. As for Java Green, Chris do you know the owner? Does anyone know the owner? If so, if you could put me in contact with him/her we can get the ball rolling. I'll keep you all updated and I'll let you know if we need a big lobbying campaign.

Thanks PoP for trying to bring new business and development into the neighborhood...

I would love to see a locally owned neighborhood business in Petworth. But I think we should also explore businesses unrelated to food and drinking. There's a huge array of need for the neighborhood like: a "gymboree" for children; a "color me mine" creative outlet store; a bookstore/coffee shop similar to Kramer's; hardware or nursery store; an indoor arcade for children and adults; batting cages...the list goes on and on. Let's think outside the box and make Petworth a destination not only for residents but others in the district!

The owner of Java Green is D J Kim, 202 775 8899 dj@javagreen.net. I would definitely vote for this.
