Furniture store goes out of business and is replaced by a

New Furniture store, originally uploaded by Prince of Petworth.

Furniture store. Not very creative if you ask me. Storehouse furniture went out of business on 14th Street and another furniture store opens in its place. Do you think that is a good idea or would you have preferred to see something else open up?

Storehouse filed chapter 11 then went out of business nationwide. I think it was a good location for storehouse but not good enough to save the entire company.
That said, I would love to see that as a bookstore. Oh wait, that's the POP's dream.

I'm happy to share that dream.

Mitchell Gold & Bob Williams is very cool stuff. I'm happy to be able to go to 14th St for furniture (there are a few other places, too) instead of going to a mall! And they also have their bookstore there - Busboys and Poets :-(

When will we get one? Maybe at least in Columbia Heights...

I agree that MG+BW is good stuff and I'm happy to have it nearby. They are environmentally aware, using wood from sustainably managed forests, ozone-friendly foam cushions, and recyclable cartons.
