Every since the weather warmed up there has been a ton of bike riders out and about in Petworth. This is probably the best bicycle I've seen, a super sweet basket, no?

PoP--Check out Citypaper's endorsement of Charles Gaither for Ward 4.
Gaither's gaining momentum!
Nice bike. I'm all excited about my new bike (getting back on after 20+ years). Just got it today, it's Dutch-style with fenders, chain guard, upright sitting position, and this cool metal skirt kind of thing covering about a third of the back spokes. So you can wear normally clothes and not get splattered or your pants caught in the chain.
It occurred to me a while back that Petworth is perfect for bikes: even local places like Domku, Temperance, Safeway, and El Limeno are not always an easy walk for many people but are an easy bike ride. Once you get in a car, you can go anywhere farther afield and probably will. CH and Adams Morgan seem doable on a regular basis even for out of shape non-bikers like me.
Thanks for taking time out to recognize my bike (a.k.a. my pride and joy). But don't be fooled by the Parisian look. She is in fact a Schwinn Collegiate, a true American icon. I use the basket to transport apple pies and democracy. God bless U.S.
Cori, it is a super sweet bike. And maybe you can transport freedom fries as well!
